Grilled Shrimp
Grilled shrimp might be the easiest way to treat your family and loved ones! It’s incredibly simple to prepare and cook and adds another level of enjoyment to compliment your main dish or enjoy as a topping or side the plate.
Ingredients
• As many shrimp as you want
• Avocado oil (or extra virgin olive)
• Melted, seasoned (or salted) butter
• TDon’s Original All Purpose Cajun Seasonings (to taste, depending on quantity of shrimp)
We simply clean the shrimp by peeling off the outer shells and cleaning out the vein, then rinsing. Pat the shrimp dry slightly with a paper towel. Once ready, add the shrimp to a skewer as shown, or create one large shrimp using the first shrimp as an anchor with the tail and the head skewered, then just the head of the shrimp thereafter, laying the tails one on top of the other.
The grill should be preheated to high heat which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 450-550 degrees. You want the irons nice and hot.
We generously coat the shrimp in avocado oil on both sides. Then we add a generous amount of TDon’s to both sides as well. Remember that a fair amount of seasonings will fall off during the grilling process.
Then add the skewered shrimp to the grill and close the lid. Total cook time at this temp should be around 3-4 minutes. We want to develop char on the shrimp, so leave the shrimp on the first side longer, say 2 minutes or so. Then turn and allow to cook for about a minute or so, closing the lid after the turn.
Shrimp should be a pearly white color when cooked properly, and juicy! It’s easy from here, as you could enjoy immediately or dip in your salted, melted butter that you prepared in advance.
